Did you see the viral funny lion videos?

Did you see those funny lion videos all over the internet? Millions of people were watching men giving lion cubs yummy snacks! The furry felines looked so happy munching treats in the grass.

But then some people started whispering – is it really ok to get that close? What if the lions forget how to hunt bunnies? And should we be near wild animals anywhere except the zoo?

I talked to the animal park folks and conservation helpers. They said the kitties are safe and learning to pounce. They only do treats sometimes, not all the time. And the park has special fences so lions don’t leave.

Others thought lion videos still seem scary. What if little kids see and want to find lions in the jungle? And did you know in Africa, bad guys hurt lions to keep them from eating goat? We need to teach everyone how to be gentle with wild friends!

The men just wanted us to know lions, and it worked – now millions DO know! I hope we learn to love lions from afar too, so they stay brave and free in Bush forever.

Jane the lion lady at the nature reserve had this to say about the

lion videos:

“We only let the cubs play with people for short times so they don’t mix us up with their momma lions. It’s fun to share snacks, but the lions must keep knowing humans aren’t for hunting.

As long as they stay boss of the bites, small rubs now and then can teach folks not to fear these kings. But everyone must promise only pet at parks, not in the jungle!”

Jane wants cubs to see we’re friends, but keep their wild wits. She thinks the lion videos can inspire love for lions – if we understand they rule the plains, not us.
